The Master’s degree programme “Engineering & Management” at the FOM University of Applied Sciences prepares you to succeed in both technical and management roles in global industry.
You learn to assess the role of technology management in industrial and economic contexts, analyse technological trends, manage innovation and change processes effectively. The programme also enables you to use digital tools and methods in industrial engineering, product development, as well as virtual simulations.
The Master’s programme “Engineering & Management” is taught entirely in English and will be completed with the academic degree Master of Science (M.Sc.).

Full-time on Campus
In our Master’s degree programme “Engineering & Management” you will be expanding your academic knowledge, gaining specialist subject and methodological understanding and further broadening your decision-making and leadership skills. You study full-time on the campus in Essen and you also have the opportunity to establish initial contacts with companies. During this time, you will have experienced, highly qualified professors and lecturers who will also provide you with individual support.
- University degree (1) (Diplom, Magister, Bachelor, Staatsexamen) with 180 ECTS:
with at least 40 ECTS credits in engineering
or a university degree¹ in any subject and 1.5 years of relevant professional experience before, during or after the first degree related to the field of study of the Master's degree (in which case the bridge course in business administration and the bridge course in technology must be successfully completed),
or successful completion of the subject-specific oral entrance examination of the FOM.
- English language level B2 (corresponds to an intermediate language level B2 according to GER, e.g. min. 785 points TOEIC or min. 72 points TOEFL IBT)
1) Degree as Magister or Bachelor or with Diplom or Staatsexamen. Degrees from accredited Bachelor's training courses at Berufsakademien are equivalent to Bachelor's degrees from higher education institutions.

All documents must be in German or English. If your original document is written in another language, you must have your document translated by a certified translator. Please then send a certified copy of the original and the certified translation when applying.

Important: Translators are not allowed to certify documents in the original language.
After the successful admission the originals and authenticated documents as well as the originally signed registration form need to be handed in at the International Office.

1st instalment (Deposit fee): €500 (has to be paid after receiving the invoice in order to secure the admission)
2nd Instalment: €13.257,75 (Payable immediately upon receipt of invoice before the 1st semester)
3rd Instalment: €8.742,25 (Payable before the 3rd semester)
(Note: The examination fee will be charged again if the student resubmits their thesis.)
