Business Administration

The degree for top managers of tomorrow: As a general course of study, the MBA conveys in-depth specialist knowledge from all areas of management, such as economics, marketing, financial management, business law and digitization. You will build on your professional and personal leadership skills by working in groups and examining case studies.

After completing your MBA, you will be able to take on a management role in an international company, develop and implement global strategies and optimise cross-company procedures.

The Master’s program “Business Administration” is taught entirely in English and will be completed with the academic degree Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Accreditation (Master)

The FOM University of Applied Sciences is accredited by the German Council for Science and Humanities for its special service to education and research and was the first private university in Germany to receive system-accreditation by the FIBAA in 2012. This seal of approval proves that the quality management of the FOM University meets the high standards of the Accreditation Council, the most important body for the quality of studies and education at German universities. In 2018 the FOM University received system-accreditation for further eight years. Thus, all courses of study offered by the FOM are accredited. A Master’s degree from the FOM University enables entry to a subsequent a PhD programme.

How to study at FOM

In our Master’s degree program “Business Administration (MBA)” you will be expanding your academic knowledge, gaining specialist subject and methodological understanding and further broadening your decision-making and leadership skills. You study full-time on the campus in Essen or in Munich and you also have the opportunity to establish initial contacts with companies. During this time, you will have experienced, highly qualified professors and lecturers who will also provide you with individual support.

What you need for admission

University degree* (Diplom, Magister, Bachelor, Staatsexamen)

  • worth 210 Credit Points** (applicants with a university degree worth 180 Credit Points** may be admitted to a course after appropriate professional experience or other university achievements are recognised)
  • at least one year’s professional experience after the first degree
  • an adequate knowledge of English (corresponding to an intermediate language level B2 according GER, e.g. at least 860 points TOEIC or at least 83 points TOEFL)

* Degrees from accredited Bachelor training programmes at Berufsakademien [tertiary education institutions offering academic training and practical in-company training]
** FOM awards credit points according to the standards of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). They measure the workload required of students in the study programme

  • Authenticated copy of General university entrance qualification certificate
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Authenticated copy of Bachelor degree certificate (for details check the admission requirements) 
  • Authenticated copy of Transcript of records Bachelor’s degree
  • If applicable: Authenticated copy of Master degree and diploma
  • Proof of sufficient English language skills (at least B2 proficiency level – for details check the admission requirements)
  • Proof of professional activity for at least 1 year after completion of the bachelor degree (prerequisite)
  • Scan of passport

After the successful admission the originals and authenticated documents as well as the originally signed registration form need to be handed in at the International Office.

Studycosts

  • total fees 17.500,00 euro including registration fee, tuition fee and examination fee.
  • examination fee 350,00 *
  • tuition fee 15.570,00
  • registration fee 1.580,00 one-time payment registation fee. Participants who have already completed or are taking a course of study or a recognised continuing education programme at one of the institutes belonging to the BCW Group pay half the enrolment fee.

Total fees payable in two installments (before the start of studies) or in three installments. The first installment (enrollment fee of €1,580) is payable upon receipt of the Offer Letter to confirm the place. After that, the rest can be paid in one installment (€15,920). Otherwise, students can split the fees into a second and third installment. The second installment must be paid before the start of the program and includes, among other things, the tuition fees for the first two semesters and the examination fees (2nd installment of €9,302). The third installment must be paid before the start of the 3rd semester and consists of the tuition fees of the 3rd and 4th semester (2nd installment à €6,618).
